You got the hotel booked, the travel plans laid out, all the places to eat picked. What is left on the "to-do" list before your next trip? The car! We do alot of travelling now, from going to and from race tracks, to visiting family and the most important thing we can stress to anyone is to get a pre-trip inspection.
Do you have to take it to a shop for one? NO! Although we do reccomend it for longer trips, and for peace of mind. You can do the pre trip inspection mostly by yourself.
Here are a couple tips to complete a DIY inspection
MISC
Are your wiper blades in good condition? How about your battery? Does your heat and A/C work?
Brakes/Suspension
Are your brakes low? Do you feel bumps more than you should?
Emergency kit!
Do you have an emergency kit? This should include things such as a gas can, a blanket, some flares, a tire iron, a car jack, water, as well as a first aid kit.
Tires!
Check that all tires are properly filled with air. You shoud also check the tread, is it even wear? Is the tread deep enough to keep you safe?
Fluids!
Check all fluids in your vehicle. This includes Oil, brake fluid, washer, fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant. Are there any leaks?Make sure all are full and in good condition.
While that may seem like alot, it is possible to do on your own. Feel like having someone else do it to make sure everything is good? Get ahold of us and get on our schedule for a pre-trip inspection.
